« La première réunion pour s’introduire entre les parents ou les familles de la future mariée et le futur marié » s’appelle « 상견례 /sang-gyeon-nyeo/ » en coréen.
Je l’ai googlé et j’ai fouillé tous les dictionnaires que j’avais, mais je n’ai pas pu trouver un mot français qui correspondait parfaitement au mot coréen.

“To have a meeting between the families of the bride and the bridegroom” is called “상견례 /sang-gen-nyeo/” in Korean.
I google it so hard and I searched all the dictionaries I had, but I couldn’t find a word that perfectly matched the Korean word in English.

En fait, « 상견례 /sang-gyeon-nyeo/ » est considéré comme une réunion assez difficile pour tous.
Nous la trouve tous à une rencontre inconfortable et difficile.
Cette réunion est généralement suivie par des frères et sœurs non mariés ensemble. (parfois, des frères et sœurs mariés aussi !)
Normalement, dans de nombreux cas, nous avons tendance à faire correspondre le nombre de personnes dans les deux familles.
Au fait, tous les membres de la famille essaient d’assister à « 상견례 /sang-gyeon-nyeo/ », car cela peut être la première et la dernière occasion à la fois de se présenter mutuellement les familles « avant le mariage ».
Sinon, vous savez, vous pouvez rarement les rencontrer avant/après une cérémonie de mariage. 🙂

Actually, “상견례 /sang-gen-nyeo/” is considered to be quite difficult.
We all think of an uncomfortable and difficult meeting when we think of that meeting.
This meeting is usually attended also by unmarried siblings together. (sometimes, married siblings, too!)
Basically, in many cases we have a tendency to match the number of people in both families.
Apparently, the whole family members try to attend in “상견례 /sang-gen-nyeo/”, because this may be the first and last opportunity to present each other’s family “before marriage.”
You know, if not, you can hardly meet them before/after a wedding ceremony. 🙂

Par ailleurs, au début, mon frère a dit que le couple organiserait une rencontre juste pour les parents et eux-mêmes.
Je ne pensais même pas y assister.
Mais quand il m’a demandé pour la troisième fois si je ne voulais vraiment pas venir, moi je lui ai demandé :
« Pourquoi tu n’arrêtes pas de me demander ? Tu aimerais que je vienne ? »
Il a alors répondu que ses futurs beaux-parents voulaient que toute la famille se rassemble.
Euh…il n’y avait aucun problème…😳
Bon, franchement, j’ai décidé d’y assister pour lui. 🤔
J’aime beaucoup manger de bons plats, mais pas avec des inconnus. ahaha

I made up my mind to go to this awkward family meeting for him. 🤔
La rencontre était le dimanche, mais ma sœur est allée travailler même le week-end ces jours-ci, donc elle ne pouvait pas venir.
Donc, il y avait huit personnes, quatre de ma famille et quatre de sa famille.
NY (la petite amie de mon frère) a aussi un petit frère.

The meeting was on Sunday, but my sister went to work even on weekends, so she couldn’t come.
There were eight people, four of my family and four of her family.
NY(my brother’s girlfriend) also has a younger brother.
En fait, je suis une actrice de naissance, donc personne ne le réalise, mais je suis très timide en présence d’étrangers.
Je suis assez sociable, mais franchement, je ne suis pas à l’aise avec des inconnus.
Mais je m’hypnotise autant que je ne le suis pas. 🤣🤣🤣
Je ne sais pas pourquoi, mais ça m’arrive tout le temps !
Alors personne ne se rend compte que je suis timide ! 😂
Même mes amis qui me voient depuis plus d’une décennie disent :
« Quoi ? Tu penses que tu es timide ? »

En fait, comme c’était la première rencontre, ma famille était très nerveuse à plusieurs égards.
Je ne me rappelle même pas combien de fois je suis allée faire du shopping avec ma mère.
Nous n’étions pas certaines de quoi nous habiller.
Donc nous avons beaucoup googlé, vous savez, « Vêtements appropriés pour Sanggyeonnye » quelque chose comme ça.

Actually, since this is the first meeting, my family was very nervous in many ways.
I can’t even remember how many times I went shopping with my mom. lol
We couldn’t quite figure out what to wear.
So we googled a lot about, you know, “Clothes suitable for Sanggyeonnye” something like that. Ahaha
Ma mère n’est pas très intéressée à s’habiller joliement. Héhé
Elle n’aime pas faire du maquillage non plus.
En général, elle aime porter une tenue confortable.
Nous sommes allées au grand magasin plusieurs fois car elle n’avait rien à porter pour des événements spéciaux comme celui-ci !
Eh bien, elle a acheté quelques vêtements.
Mais ce jour-là, elle a fini par porter une robe qu’elle avait déjà eue à la maison.
Parce que nous étions tous d’accord que les nouveaux vêtements qu’elle avait achetés étaient trop décontractés et ne convenaient pas à cette réunion. 😛

She’s not into make-up either.
She loves to put on comfortable clothes.
We went to the department store several times because she had nothing to wear at the special events like this!
Well, she bought some clothes.
But that day, she ended up wearing a dress she already had at home.
Because we all agreed that the new clothes she bought were too casual and did not suit the occasion. 😛
30 minutes avant d’aller au point de rendez-vous, mon père a dit qu’il était si nerveux.
Puis soudain, il a bu une demi-bouteille de soju !
Soju est une boisson alcoolisée coréenne qui n’a pas de goût.

Soju is a Korean alcoholic drink with no taste.

On s’est rencontrés dans un restaurant chinois, et j’ai pris des photos des plats !
D’ailleurs, au début, c’était vraiment embarrassant parce qu’on était tous un peu nerveux et qu’on ne savait pas quoi dire.
Après avoir mangé l’entrée, partagé quelques blagues entre mon père et le père de NY (tous deux aiment l’alcool), l’atmosphère tendue est un peu détendue.
À la fin, ils étaient très soûls, mais il ne s’est rien passé de gênant !
C’était pas mal! 🙂

We met in a Chinese restaurant, and I took a few photos of the food!
In fact, at first it was really awkward because we were all a bit nervous and didn’t know what to say.
After having the starter, sharing some jokes between my dad and NY’s dad (both love alcohol) the tense atmosphere was loosened a bit.
In the end, they were very drunk, but nothing to worry happened!
It was okay! 🙂
Bref, on s’est bien régalés dans une ambiance sympa.
Mon frère a dit : « Pourquoi ne prends-tu pas des photos pour ton blog ? »

La mère de NY a donné des « 떡 Tteoks (gâteaux de riz) » à ma mère en cadeau. 🙂
C’était tellement bon que j’ai récemment commandé d’autres « 떡 Tteoks (gâteaux de riz) » dans cette boutique pour partager avec mes amis !

Sinon, l’emballage était si joli, mais je n’ai pas pu le prendre en photo.
Parce que mon père voulait partager un peu de 떡 Tteok avec le chauffeur de taxi sur le chemin du retour(donc mon frère l’a déballé) ! Héhé

NY’s mother prepared “떡 Tteok (rice cakes)” for my mom as a gift.
We didn’t expect it,…we didn’t prepare anything to give them.
It was so tasty that I ordered another “떡 Tteok (rice cakes)” to share with my friends recently from this rice cake shop!
I’m also going to talk to you about it later!
The wrapping was so pretty, but I couldn’t photograph it.
Because my dad wanted to give some 떡 Tteoks to the taxi driver on the way home(so my brother unwrapped it)! Hehe

Ce gâteau de riz a été commandé par mon frère et sa petite amie.
Sa forme ressemble à « l’emballage Bojagi (emballage coréen traditionnel) », c’est pourquoi ce gâteau s’appelle le « Gâteau Bojagi ». 🙂
C’est écrit en coréen : « On s’aimera et on se chérira tous les deux. ❤ »

This rice cake was ordered by my younger brother and his girlfriend.
Its shape resembles “Bojagi wrapping (traditional Korean wrapping)”, therefore this cake is called “Bojagi cake”. 🙂
It’s written in Korean: “The two of us will love and cherish each other. ❤”
La préparation du mariage demandera beaucoup de temps et d’efforts, mais j’espère qu’ils seront heureux et auront du plaisir pendant le processus de préparation.
