How are you doing?
It’s been a while since my last post.
I’ve been up to quite a few things, but I don’t think there’s anything special to share with you here. 🤭

Voir mes amis me met très à l’aise.

There were some personal events that happened to me.

Lately, I’ve been meeting up with a lot of friends.
It’s always fun to spend time with them.
Seeing my friends makes me feel very comfortable.
I’m always grateful to have good friends around me. ❤

David Hockney & British Pop Art – 1960s Swinging London

Busan Dong-gu Culture Platform (Old. Korail Busanjin Station)

C’était autrefois une gare ferroviaire. 🚉

The site was once a railway station. 🚉
Now, it’s become a very useful place.

It was my first time going there.

David Hockney & British Pop Art – 1960s Swinging London

By the way, I had never heard of David Hockney before.
But I was really curious about the exhibition because I had seen the banners so many times on the streets. 🙂

I don’t know much about art, actually. 😅

The only pop artists I knew were Warhol and Haring.
I’ve visited exhibitions of both artists before.

Anyway, thanks to this great opportunity, I was able to discover new artists, including David Hockney and other British pop artists.

Unfortunately, there weren’t many works, but I was glad to see such an exhibition in Busan!

  1. Pop Art began in the 1950s when I was a small child. Later, in my teens, I actually had a copy of the Sgt. Pepper album which was everything teenagers like me wanted to emulate!
For me the outstanding artist to come out of that movement was (and still is) David Hockney. Today he is in his mid 80s and still working; his work is still so fresh, which is what I love. He spends a lot of time now in Normandy, France, and there is a book “Spring Cannot Be Cancelled” about his life and work there currently on sale (March 2020 authored by Martin Gayford, pub. Thames & Hudson). Full of colour pictures and Hockney’s reflections through the spring. He has also done several television programmes about his own art and living in Yorkshire, England. Can you tell, he’s a hero of mine? Here’s a link to his website: https://www.hockney.com/home
I still haven’t returned to my “bookcase” project! It seems a long time since you posted here so it’s good to know that you are safe and well. 🌹🙋‍♂️
