“I didn’t walk a single step… I came to run. That was the rule.”

Me neither — I didn’t walk a single step.💃💃

It was my first run after four months.

I stopped running last December because of my inflamed right ankle.

땀!

J’étais complètement essoufflée.

It was actually on Christmas morning —
and it was my first 10K.
(I usually run less than 5K.)

After that run, my family asked me how it went,
and I said,

“I almost felt like I was about to meet Jesus — on Christmas morning.” 🤣

I was completely out of breath.

ça m’a paru interminable.

Et honnêtement, même 10 km me semblaient beaucoup trop longs.

Oh mon Dieu. 😅

So I wasn’t quite sure if I could finish the race — I was still getting treatment for my ankle that week.

And wow… it felt so long.

I mean, it was hard after such a long break.
And honestly, even 10K felt way too long.

Oh my gosh.

Je me disais :

« Il est où le panneau des 3 km ? Pourquoi 1 km me paraît une éternité ? »

My sister was my running mate —
she runs 12 to 15K every day, so she wasn’t bored at all.

But me?

I was like,

“Where is the 3K point? Why does 1K feel like forever?”

Ma sœur a éclaté de rire. 😂

For me, the 3K mark is always the hardest. It’s my personal torture zone. 😅

At some point, my heart rate went up to 190, and I just giggled,

“Seriously… is it gonna hit 200 or what?”

My sister completely lost it. 😂

Anyway, during those endless kilometers,
I kept thinking about Haruki Murakami’s book.

I’ve always loved it.

Let’s just say — his words kept me running.

English quote from Murakami running book saying I didn’t walk a single step highlighted

Parce que quand on est là-dehors,
on court.
On ne marche pas.

Because when you’re out there,
you run.
You don’t walk.

And after crossing the finish line,

I felt so good.

    2. Talking of travel, I’m currently watching a TV programme about the railways in Japan. The presenter, once a British politician, spends his life away from politics on trains! When this series finishes, he’s coming to visit you in South Korea (ROK). I’m looking forward to watching it and possibly meeting you there! 😉🤗🙇‍♂️

  3. Hi Migy, I’m afraid I missed you on the Korean railway programme I’d been watching. The short series is over now. Two memorable people we met were Mr Kapseok Kang, a hanji Master paper maker, and Mrs Ran Lim, a rather famous kimichi maker!
